Acalypha

This project began as an inspiration from the teachings of Dr. Santiago Castroviejo (1946-2009) a friend, mentor, and source of unwavering support. His enthusiasm and dedication to botanical research laid the foundation for this work.

Since its inception, the project has received funding from various sources, including the Spanish Government through research project EUI 2008-0388, and the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in collaboration with the Comunidad de Madrid Regional Government through project CCG07-UAM/AMB-1453.

For the period 2023–2027, we are funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities under project PID2022-139634NA-I00.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the curators of the cited herbaria for their kind assistance during our visits and for the loan of specimens, as well as to the many colleagues who have collaborated and contributed valuable information over the years.
