WEST TROPICAL AFRICA (Benin, Burkina Faso, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger Republic, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo). WEST-CENTRAL TROPICAL AFRICA (Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, D.R Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Republic of the Congo, São Tomé and Príncipe). MACARONESIA (Cape Verde). Also recorded as probably naturalized in Madagascar (Montero Muñoz et al. 2023).
