Locality: Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Andrés Ibáñez. W side of city of Santa Cruz. This is the local expresssion with very pubescent leaves, on sandy, dune areas around the city of Santa Cruz.

Description & notes: Herb, in weedy area, the soil sandy, several stems from ground, 50cm. tall. Inflorescences erect; male spikes yellow-green; female spikes with pink stigmas when young, later the green bracts becoming more prominent.
